Be ready for Trybe - our new system

We've compiled a list of frequently asked questions for your convenience. If you still have enquiries about the new system, please don't hesitate to contact a member of our leisure club for further assistance. Call us on 01271 341602 or email club@barnstaplehotel.co.uk.

Our new system is far more sophisticated than our existing system and will now give members more control over their membership. Once the member has activated their Trybe account, from here they will be able to manage their memberships, book inductions, receive important updates via SMS or email, and bulk buy health club sessions, with even more to come in the future!

  • Book Inductions Online
  • Purchase memberships online
  • Book Membership sign up meetings online if they wish to discuss the options further
  • Control over their memberships by managing their memberships online
  • Receive important updates from us either via SMS, Email
  • Medical Forms will be done via their email which will speed up the membership process
  • Rolling payments as opposed to Direct Debits (please note the 6 month period is still in place)
  • An easy-to-use, seamless system
  • Bulk buy entry into the Health Club at a reduced rate (coming soon)
  • Future potentials - Book places for Health Club Children’s parties without having to come into the Health Club

Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum Yearly memberships will mostly be unaffected other than needing to activate their Trybe account. Membership expiry dates will remain unchanged.

Platinum Monthly members will need to firstly activate their Trybe account. Then from the 5th July 2024 an email link will be sent to them from noreply@partners.try.be asking the monthly member to fill out their card details using their secure site.
 

Our new system will take over the recurring payments from 1st September 2024 and the system will tell you your next payment date, this will appear on bank accounts as either Trybe or Barnstaple Hotel.


Please make sure that you fill out the Trybe recurring payment form by 8th August 2024 to ensure a smooth transition.

We will cancel all payments from the current provider from 1st September 2024 but each member may wish to contact their bank to ensure cancellation of any payments from the current direct debit provider. Please do not cancel this before your last payment as detailed below. 
 

  • For those currently paying on the 1st of the month, your last Direct Debit payment will be 1st August 2024. Your recurring payments will start on Trybe from the 1st September 2024.
  • For those currently paying on the 8th of the month, your last Direct Debit payment will be 8th July 2024, please cancel your direct debit after this date. With a prorata of £38.71 added to your account for the period 8th August - 31st August. Your recurring payments will start on Trybe from the 1st September 2024.
  • For those currently paying on the 15th of the month, your last Direct Debit payment will be 15th July 2024, please cancel your direct debit after this date. With a prorata of £27.42 added to your account for the period 15th August - 31st August. Your recurring payments will start on Trybe from the 1st September 2024.
  • For those currently paying on the 25th of the month, your last Direct Debit payment will be 25th July 2024, please cancel your direct debit after this date. With a prorata of £11.29 added to your account for the period 25th August - 31st August. Your recurring payments will start on Trybe from the 1st September 2024.

You will receive an email to verify your membership. Please click on the link and follow the instructions:

  • Enter your email address and click 'forgotten password' 
  • This will generate a new email to you which will contain a link to set up your own password and provide you with access to the system.
  • Your account will be live, please ensure that all your details are correct.


Please bear with us during this transition and we welcome any feedback once this is up and running. 
 

Direct debits are taken using authorisation from giving bank details whereas monthly recurring payments are taken using authorisation from your bank card - both are equally secure.

If you would like to pay for your annual membership with cash you will need to book a membership appointment with us via trybe/phone/email.

Yes, vouchers will still be available on The Barnstaple Hotel website and at the hotel reception.

Your details will be deleted from the current system’s database as our account will also be closed. However, for those who have paid monthly via Direct Debit, the company DFC will store your data along the statutory guidelines.

Email addresses are used to log into your Trybe account where the customer has control over their membership. Health Questionnaires can also be completed online and stored on the membership Trybe account. Should a customer not have an email address, they will need to book a meeting with the Leisure Club team where a staff member will be able to set up the membership. 

Our new system may be able to give us this capability in the future and is something we may explore further.

  • You will have an initial email from us informing you of our change in the system and be given details on how to activate your account, along with our FAQs 
  • You will be emailed by Trybe asking to activate your account. 
  • We will then email Platinum monthly members to inform them that from 5th July 2024, our new system Trybe will email them asking them to fill out their monthly recurring payment form. The email address this will come from is noreply@partners.try.be
  • You may receive additional communication from us and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
