Let us inspire you with a handful of quirky places and activities so you can make the most of your time off. It's time to say goodbye to the same old, and welcome new adventures.
Have a Curry on Barricane Beach
Having a curry on Barricane beach is the stuff of legends in Devon. Barricane Beach Cafe is where the magic happens, between 5pm -7pm Thursday to Sunday they offer a selection of mouth-watering curries that will give you a surreal Sri Lanka curry experience in the heart of North Devon. Choose between a meat or veg curry, both served with an additional two veg curries, poppadums and sambal. If you want to make an evening of it, why not bring blankets and a bottle or two of wine to watch the sunset and spend some quality time with friends and loved ones.
Strawberry picking at Halberton Farm
Spend an Afternoon at Halberton Farm on the outskirts of Tiverton and enjoy picking your very own strawberries. Entering the farm is completely free just pop into the farm food shop and get yourself a basket, after this, you can roam along the fields deciding which strawberries look good enough to make their way home with you, once done you simply pay for the weight of the fruit you picked. If you do want to prolong your day, why not enjoy some fresh delights in the Tea Room, or take a stroll on the Tiverton canal just up from the farm.
Take a Bike Ride on the Tarka Trail
The Tarka Trail offers 180 miles of discovery, and although it would be impossible to tackle it all in one go, it does allow for extra days out and more adventures. The Tarka Trail is made up of a figure-eight route so experience unspoiled countryside, dramatic sea cliffs and beautiful beaches, ride from or to Barnstaple, Oakhampton, Woody Bay Station, Instow, Fremington Quay, Valley of Rocks plus many more locations.
