The Maritime Festival in Ilfracombe is a weekend of great food and nautical fun. The festival began in 2009, set up by local volunteers and businesses. Since then the event has gone from strength to strength whilst remaining free for everyone to enjoy. The success and fun of the event is all down to the hard work of volunteers, charities, council funding and the generosity of local businesses.
The town comes together to offer two days of fun attractions, local food stalls, live music and family entertainment to locals and visitors alike. Held near the sea-front and within easy reach of other popular attractions, the festival is a wonderful excuse to spend the day in Ilfracombe, seeing what the historical coastal town has to offer.
