Get spooked this half term!

As Halloween descends all over Devon many of our top attractions have specially themed events perfect for you and the kids.

As you’d expect, there’ll be no shortage of freaky and frightening events happening in North Devon this half term.

If you’d like to make this half-term the most ‘fangtastic’ one yet, check out some of the eeriest events and attractions to keep your kids entertained this autumn.

1. The Big Sheep’s Halloween Festival (23rd - 31st October, daily 10am - 5pm)

One of the South West’s biggest Halloween festivals is back again this year, hosting an array of activities and events throughout the Half Term week. With family fun by day and fright-filled horrors by night, plenty is going on to keep guests of all ages thoroughly spooked.

Take a ride on the Haunted Hayride, visit the Haunted House, ride the Ghost Train, carve a pumpkin, attend the monsters glow party and enjoy the other themed attractions around the park. 

Feeling brave? At night the ghosts and ghouls come out to play making the attractions even spookier for all ages! The darkness adds to the scares as you take a ride on the Field of Screams Haunted Hayride or learn to fly like a witch at flying school.

2. Halloween Hocus Pocus at The Milky Way (23rd - 31st October)

This Halloween, guests are invited to enrol in the special School for Witches and Wizards. The little horrors will love making wands, writing spells, riding broomsticks and making potions - and can also enjoy the themed show and have a ride on the spooky swamp dodgems. You will also get to enjoy all the other adventures, amusements and activities available all year round, with rides, slides, shows and activities designed to entertain the whole family.

3. Autumn Carnival at RHS Rosemoor (23rd - 31st October, daily from 10am - 5pm)

Visit RHS Rosemoor for an autumn garden trail and plenty of fun half term activities this spooky season. 

Help the garden’s detective to solve the puzzle of why some leaves change colour in autumn, paint pumpkins, get crafty with leaves and prepare your very own winter lettuce to take away and grow at home.

There will also be a Halloween disco on Saturday 30 October, 4:30 - 6:30pm in the garden room where they will be live music and sweet treats.

4. Watermouth Castle

The family theme park and the historical castle is the perfect place to visit this Halloween. Guests can learn about the history of the castle and have a tour through the dungeons to see super spooky surprises waiting underground. Upon arrival into the castle grounds, you’ll find fun-filled attractions suitable for all ages. Watch out for witches, cauldron’s, a huge witches broomstick and pumpkins galore if you plan on visiting Watermouth Castle this half term.

5. Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park (25th - 31st October)

Be entertained this half-term and visit the critter cavern at Combe Martin Wildlife & Dinosaur Park. Keep your eyes peeled for the devilish dinosaurs, Tomb of the Pharaohs and observe their spooktacular sea lion show. As well as their haunting Halloween attractions they are also known for their impressive life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and gigantic indoor soft play area. 6. Crealy Spookfest 2021 (23rd - 31st october)

There’s a host of fearsome activities on at Crealy Theme Park during October half term with some a little scarier than others. 

Expect Halloween shows in the arena, the Creaky Hotel, bewitched singing pumpkins, a scarecrow maze, discover the witches of the wilderness along fearsome trail and get a free pumpkin for every child.
