The Senior Manager is responsible for ensuring procedures and compliance are followed within the hotel. Working to meet the highest possible operating standards of the business through profit, quality, cost control and compliance, in order to elevate our business to the next level. What will I be doing?

As the Senior Manager at the Barnstaple Hotel, you are responsible for the coordination of all hotel operating departments including Sales, Human Resources and Accounts. Your goal is to maximise in-house spend by guests and to deliver expected levels of performance and the consistency with which they are delivered.  Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Coordination of all hotel operating departments (under the leadership of the Hotel Director and the Hotel Manager), plus communication and cooperation with Sales, Human Resources, Accounts and Marketing
  • Maximise in house spend by all guests through Restaurant, Bar and Health Club
  • Deliver expected levels of performance and the consistency with which they are delivered.
  • Target higher levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • To ensure all complaints are minimised and handled professionally as in accordance with policies
  • To maintain and enhance the reputation of the hotel and the wider group
  • To build a strong, well-motivated, high-performing team in each department
  • To supervise, motivate, train and recruit these teams in line with company policies and manuals
  • Maximise sales performance, marketing and revenue management working closely with the Director, General Manager and Sales Department
  • Ensure effective control of budgets and staff costs
  • Ensure the physical property is well maintained with regular maintenance and improvement through liaison with the General Manager and Maintenance team
  • Ensure compliance on fire safety, environmental health and general health and safety,
  • Management Reporting
  • Comply and abide to company policies and manuals

Although previous experience would be beneficial, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
