Things to do in October Half-term
If you’re looking for some family fun to keep the whole family entertained this October Half term then you’ve come to the right place. You’ll be spoilt for choice with things to do in North Devon so we’ve created this handy list of our top recommendations.
1. Milky Way
Recently voted #2 in Trip Advisors ‘Top Ten Amusement Parks in the UK’, the Milky Way Adventure Park has it all! The Milky Way has over 110,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor activities, making it the biggest all-weather, family day out in North Devon. The Milky Way should be top of your list of things to do this summer.
Ride the Cosmic Typhoon Devon’s tallest, fastest, longest roller coaster. Have a wild time in North Devon’s biggest indoor adventure play area with assault courses, slides built for adults and children. Kick back and watch amazing live shows featuring Merlin from Britain’s Got Talent with his death-defying escapology show, plus fantastic displays from the North Devon Bird of Prey Centre.

2. Embrace family fun at The Big Sheep
The Big Sheep is one of North Devon’s best all-weather family attractions.
The animal-themed family amusement park abounds with all things sheep, with lamb feeding, sheep shearing and the world-famous and hilarious sheep racing. But the Big Sheep has so much more. Their Ewetopia Indoor Playground is a great way to tire the kids for a few hours while you enjoy a cup of tea in the warmth of our cafe.
3. Take a trip to RHS Gardens Rosemoor
At Rosemoor gardens, you can enjoy 65-acres of beautifully planted flower beds, set within a pretty wooded valley. Around every corner there's a lovely surprise. The gardens are home to plants from around the world. Events take place throughout the year, there's lots of shopping to be done and children's activities keep little green-fingers amused.
4. Go wild at Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park
Go wild this half term at Coombe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park where you can see some wonderful wildlife, including wolves, sea lions, meerkats and African Lions. Also advertised are impressive dinosaur models and some unusual attractions, such as swimming with sea lions and experiencing birds of prey at close hand. As well as the spectacular gardens and wonderful wildlife, the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park features a gigantic indoor soft play and offers free daily talks and encounters so you can have fun whatever the weather.
5. Have a go at some water sports at North Devon Wakepark
Located in the stunning landscape of North Devon and only 10 minutes away from the coast, North Devon Wake Park boasts the best of both worlds. The stunning lake is situated in the beautiful fields of North Devon and is accompanied by a wooden clubhouse, undercover decking and luscious grassed areas, making it the perfect place to enjoy the charming setting and take on an enjoyable and entertaining activity.
The WakePark has a variety of outdoor activities for all ages which include wakeboarding, Paddleboarding, slacklining and their unique aquapark.

7. ‘Get some Air’ at Air Extreme
Air Extreme is the ultimate trampoline park in Devon, Barnstaple. The perfect place where jumpers can literally ‘Get Some Air’ and bounce off the walls in a safe controlled environment.
Extreme Jump Sessions include the use of all 8 adrenaline activities, such as the Battle Beam, Performance Trampolines, FreeStyle, Dodgeball and Airball - so there's something for all the family.

8.Explore Exmoor Zoo
Exmoor Zoo is an award-winning zoo that has a mission to promote education and conservation. It’s a friendly zoo which allows visitors to get really close to the animals in its care.
Recent exhibits such as caracal, puma, maned wolves, tapir, sand cats and the famous “Exmoor Beast” can be seen amongst the unique and rare smaller animals for which the zoo provides “natural” enclosures. Carefully planted shrubs and trees as they have matured along the winding zoo paths keep you wondering what is next, providing a very relaxing and natural atmosphere!
